WHAT IS IT? Ayurveda is an approach that views the body and mind as a whole. Ayurvedic medicine is plant-based and has been used in India for over 5000 years. Ayurvedic medicine is based on the five elements of nature – earth, fire, water, ether and air. These elements relate to the body’s three main components, known as doshas – Pitta, Vatta and Kapha.
