Chakra Healing

WHAT IS IT? Chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit and refers to a spinning sphere of bioenergetic activity. Knowledge about the Chakra system originated in India more than 4000 years ago. There are seven of these wheels stacked in a column of energy that spans from the base of the spine to the top of the head, with each Chakra relating to the others. Like feelings or ideas, the Chakras cannot be touched or felt like physical objects. However, Chakras have a strong effect on the body as they are the embodiment of spiritual energy on the physical plane.

WHAT DOES IT DO? In the same way that emotions affect our breathing, heart rate and metabolism, the Chakras influence our glandular functioning, body shape, chronic physical ailments, thoughts and behaviour. The chakras are important because they connect our dense physical fields and the lighter fields of our auras.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? Chakras are concentrated points of energy within our bodies. When they are healthy, vital life energy flows through them unimpeded. Techniques such as Yoga, breathing, bioenergetics, physical exercises, meditation and visualisation can in turn influence our Chakras. When our Chakras are in balance, our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health improves.
