Reiki Healing

WHAT IS REIKI?  Reiki Healing is a Japanese energy healing system, introduced to the west by Dr Mikao Usui. The Reiki practitioner directs the life force energy, Ki, through a series of hand positions on or near the body. The Reiki practitioner aims to ensure greater amounts of spiritual energy are activated in and around the body, allowing healing to occur. It triggers the release of resistance and enhances our ability to let go. A Reiki practitioner is simply a channel for Ki. This energy will do what the body requires.

WHAT DOES IT DO? A Reiki treatment seeks to balance energies in the body, mind and spirit to improve wellbeing. The client remains fully clothed, lying down comfortably. The Reiki practitioner may sometimes touch you lightly but most of the time they move their hands around your body. When they are focusing on a certain area you may feel the area heat up and you may feel a slight tingling sensation. It is not possible to predict exactly what the Ki will do, where it will go and how it will cure, because humans are likely to limit the effects of Reiki with their rational and logical thought processes.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Reiki has not been known to have any major side-effects and is a safe therapy. It can relieve pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, addiction, headache, grief, insomnia and tension in the body.
