The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
True… Though even if there was the same exact end point, everyone’s path to get there is different.
Some people walk strong and clear with a wide gated step. Their stride is easier than most.
Some are children who’s steps are like 2-5 times that of an adult, and so the journey, although the same distance is longer due to relativity. Some children are scared and unsure, some are confident and vibrant. Some children have been told they’ll never get anywhere.
Some people are in the grind, trying to learn new ways to feel good and confident about walking with their head held high.
Some walk in humble service to help others, to guide and support the not quite able bodied people.
Some people are confused my the concept of the path, as it looks and feels different to everyone else that is “neurotypical”
Some don’t even know if the path still exists as they are in the crux of war and political agendas.
Some have to rely on senses other than sight to guide them.
Some are incredibly privileged and enjoy the journey in comfort and luxury of privilege.
Some are disadvantaged from the get go and may feel like every step is like a knock backwards… getting ahead is a struggle, yet they keep on keeping on, despite the odds stacked against them.
Some fight an internal battle every day and struggle to get out of bed.. to even be able take a step. Some don’t.
Some will sit in the dark until that moment when their inner fire is stoked and light the way.
Some look at the journey and they decide to leave. And they do.
Some rebel and take the scenic route around the accepted path and endure wild forest of human nature, some wander to lose themselves, some find themselves, some seek challenges to grow and to expand their resilience skills… Some even find shortcuts.
Some wobble, some crawl, some dance, some leap.
At the end of the day, everyone is walking through life in the way that they are… it is what it is.
No one can really know or truly comprehend the shoes, barefeet, crutches, wheelchairs or mental time machines that people are experiencing on their path, how complex or winding it is.
One thing is certain, we are all sharing this place and time together.
We are all coexisting on our home planet.
We can all benefit from listening to each other.
Learning from each other.
Treating each other with kindness and respect.
Helping each other to connect with the heart, nature and this beautiful world that is all around.
Investing in what is important… truly important.
The mental, emotional, spiritual and creative health and well-being of the planet and all its inhabitant, ourselves, family and communities.
To create beauty and abundance for all to enjoy… we must learn how to trust each other.
We have to focus on a common vision of a world we all want to create together, to focus our intentions on it and be vigilant in fiercely guarding and protecting what is natural and sacred.
Each day we walk, we can scatter seeds…
And grow a beautiful world for ourselves and the future generations.
To take a “step”… you have to take a “stand.”
What do you stand for?
What do do you choose to walk towards?
What inspired action can you take today?
With Love,
Donna Raymond
